Why do trees and walls regenerate during a match?

Does this increase CPU usage of both server & user devices?

 

I would think once its knocked down it stays down, at least to the beginning of the next game.

Can someone enlighten me.

i guess if it stays like rubble i think it will lag the game maybe

Portable devices don't have the capability to load up the whole map for the whole match unless you want to blow it up. That's why on the settings thee's something called view range (aimed specifically for lower-end devices).

It's just an animation that plays when you run into one. The destructible parts of the map are on a timer that resets them, just like the health and air support boxes.

That must come from the server yes? each players view of it must update.

Resetting the walls etc must take a small amount of precious cpu time.

 

Why not just leave items damaged.

Maybe we could add ability to turn this on or off in the graphics settings for certain objects

I guess I have 2 questions.

1. Because leaving walls and trees destroyed for a whole match greatly limits places tanks can go to find cover. You wouldn't want to spawn in Military and find out all the walls around you are broken and the other team is spawnkilling hard.

 

2. If it did, you would notice it. It would have been removed long ago, just like how day/night was removed in 2.0.

He's allowed to talk about this if he wants to. The Proposals section never restricted ideas that may not be the first priority for the game at the moment. If this were the case, things like the Camouflage section would be pointless to begin with.

OK back to the topic. I think regenerating the environment is a good thing for how long these matches get. If they were like, say, ten to 15 minutes then you could leave things broken because when the match starts again everything would be back and it wouldn't be as big of an issue. That's why a lot of other games have destroyed environments all game because they are short enough to not be a problem for spawn camping and all those other juicy things that would be a hassle if the map stayed destroyed.

kill my friends or kill any member of AMMO, UNIT, or my clan (ROSE), my gf, heavy unit k9, or any low lvl/small tank and I will show no mercy to him (take note: I'm short tempered meaning I'm easy to make mad)

I'm in two minds.

For regeneration: looks better, does provide some protection but not much, provides a barrier against a rat run forming.

Against regeneration: maybe you've knock it down for a reason, for a better view or to give you a clear return run in a flag match. Its more realistic.

                                   I find it annoying when you come round a corner only to find the brickies have rebuilt the wall that only a few seconds earlier wasn't there.

                                   Is protection really necessary with the 3 second immunity you get on spawning.

                                   Does it create any lag in computer processor time?, still don't understand this.
