There seems to be some mishap over iOS devices; I will state my opinion on the matter at hand: Currently I have an iOS device, which is compatible to the Update 2.0 for Tanktastic, yes there is some lag now and then at close combat, but other than that, it runs fine. As Randy said, it may be that your device is somewhat old and has trouble keeping up with 2.0 and It's new changes. As V1.22A was much smaller.

If you, however, would like to try turning down your Graphics to low, that might help. Other than that, there is probably no way, at the moment, to make the game work smoothly for iOS devices.

Using iPad Air 2 & Running TankTastic smoother than android.
