I firmly believe the update has become a mythical creature on a level with the unicorn and the centaur.

MBT-3000 made 2014
Chines call it MBT-2000 and the rest of the world calls it Al-Khalid.
The Chinese went from the Type-90IM to the MBT-2000 to the VT-1A to the VT-4 aka MBT 3000.
Type 99 made in 2001
Which one is stronger? Type 99
Why? It's 10 kph faster & has more armor types.
MBT-3000 is cheaper than type 99 so it's made for export. (Made in China product)
China is Russia's main competitor in developing countries seeking to buy tanks & the tight market is becoming even more competitive for tank exporters.
"the T-14 is reported to have a price as high as that of the United States' M1A2 Abrams. ... Why don't buyers consider Chinese tanks that have well-developed technologies and equipment as well as much-lower prices?"
MBT-3000 and ZTZ-99 (aka Type 99) would have been classified as variants of the same tank but for marketing reasons.
