Georgy Zhukov

was a Soviet career officer in the Red Army who, in the course of World War II, played the most pivotal role in leading the Red Army drive through much of Eastern Europe to liberate the Soviet Union and other nations from the occupation of the Axis Powers and, ultimately, to conquer Berlin. He is the most decorated general officer in the history of the Soviet Union and Russia.

Erwin Rommel

was a German field marshal of World War II. He earned the respect of both his own troops and his enemies. Rommel was a highly decorated officer in World War I and was awarded the Pour le Mérite for his exploits on the Italian Front. In World War II, he further distinguished himself as the commander of the 7th Panzer Division during the 1940 invasion of France. His leadership of German and Italian forces in the North African campaign established him as one of the most able commanders of the war, and earned him the appellation of the Desert Fox. He is regarded as one of the most skilled commanders of desert warfare in the conflict. He later commanded the German forces opposing the Allied cross-channelinvasion of Normandy. His assignments never took him to the Eastern Front.

Bernard Montgomery

was a British Army officer. He saw action in the First World War as a junior officer in The Royal Warwickshire Regiment. At Méteren, near the Belgian border at Bailleul, he was shot through the right lung by a sniper. He returned to the Western Front as a general staff officer and took part in the Battle of Arras in April/May 1917. He also took part in the Battle of Passchendaele in Autumn 1917 before finishing the war as chief of staff of the 47th (2nd London) Division.

The Topic has been moved to the appropriate section of the Forum.

Please, next time create these kind of Topics in the right section of the Forum, i.e. "Historical notes", "Misc" subforum: the "News" section is just for official news and announcements from the staff, moderators and admins.

Also, the flag has been replaced with the Balkenkreuz, a stylized version of the Iron Cross, the emblem of the Wehrmacht, more appropriate to the figure of Rommel himself and to the Forum.

Thanks and best regards,
Altank.
